Avatar Movie Premiere After Party
The world of Avatar didn’t stop at the screen. Neither did we.
The Challenge
We partnered with creative production group Obo Global to deliver an innovative, immersive experience for an afterparty celebrating the world premiere of the blockbuster film Avatar: The Way of Water. Hosted at London’s Natural History Museum, our challenge was to create a transformative atmosphere inspired by the unique world depicted in the highly anticipated sequel (which garnered four Oscar nominations).
Our Insight
An immersive, multi-sensory experience was crucial to replicating the world of the film in a physical space. Technical precision was also crucial to foster an otherworldly atmosphere.
Our Solution
We brought audio, visual and scenic design together to deliver an unforgettable experience drawing on the striking colours, aesthetics and moments from the film. The experience would centre around a bespoke feature echoing a seminal film moment as part of the immersive guest journey. Our ‘bio-lume’ box integrated an LED tiled floor, with custom-digitized content of flowing water patterns, as well as mirrored walls and a ceiling incorporating over 500 hanging fibre optic strands.
The Experience
The voyage commenced at the Natural History Museum’s exterior, washed in moving light fixtures to create an impactful entrance to the experience within. Once inside, purples, blues and pinks swirled to evoke texture with thematic sounds from the film emanating. The ‘bio-lume’ box created a standout sensory feature – an Avatar infinity tunnel where guests were able to capture photos of themselves on an imagined journey to Pandora, tactically immersed in the cinematic world.
