EC Impact Fund
The fund explained:
As a business we wanted to do more to give back to our local communities; this is a central pillar of our sustainability strategy. Funded through a small contribution built into every client project, the EC Impact Fund allows us to invest directly back into sustainable solutions for our clients e.g. innovative materials, new technologies, training and more importantly, give back to causes close to our hearts. We have a clear mission of #impactwithoutimpact and the generosity of our clients allows us to create positive impact and drive industry change.
Aligning with our strategic pillars of engaging our communities and reducing our environmental footprint, our team vote for one social and one environmental charity to be the beneficiaries of the fund.
Our chosen charity
Felix is the UK’s leading food rescue and redistribution charity. The organisation collects good-to-eat surplus food from supermarkets, farms, and manufacturers that would otherwise go to waste, and delivers it free of charge to over 8,000 community groups, food banks, and schools across the UK.
Vertiree are our nature-based solutions partner, investing in verified ecosystem restoration projects. Through this partnership, we support measurable environmental outcomes, including reforestation, biodiversity restoration and carbon sequestration.
Governance
The EC Impact fund is overseen by an internal working group to ensure it is appropriately measured and managed and will report details in our annual impact report.
The group work alongside our Green Team and the wider EC team to identify and select charities and initiatives to support.
